A few days ago, I was feeling all juiced out and had neglected working for too long. So I decided to fall back on my usual tactic of listening to music to keep me plastered in one place to actually do some work…some people find this highly distracting and actually I agree – at times it is very distracting – especially if you can not hit the spot with right music and then searching for the right song can serve as a way into endless procrastination. Recently, I have been listening to a lot of radio to keep it fresh but then I realised that rush hour radio is HIGHLY ANNOYING when you are working!!! SO many news bulletins. This mini annoyance led me to investigate internet radio stations.
The last time I looked (a looong time ago..) internet radio was tosh. Now though it is pretty awesome. The great thing is that if you want, say, ambient music that is what you will get. Many are genre orientated but the better ones manage to forage through the confines one genre into other ones. (more…)
